Abstract

Mississippi State University's CAVS Extension Center has developed multiple simulation based decision support systems. Including systems to aid production planning personnel in generating production plans to improve operations and evaluate changes to current plans. One of these decision support tools was developed to aid current efforts to continuously improve a Mississippi shipyard's productivity across multiple contracts and evaluate changes that could affect the shipyard such as the introduction of additional existing products which a lot of data may be available for and brand new products where little data is available.
