Abstract

Pattern recognition methodologies have a lot to offer to material sciences. The paper presents as an example the application of a neural network for studying the flow stress behaviour of Al-Mg-Si alloys. With the help of the neural network it is shown that the dislocation density has the highest impact to the evolution of the material.
