A Mississippi State University team of faculty members, alumni and students are developing the "Car of the Future." The work is being done at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) and the team hopes to have the vehicle operating by December.

The purpose of the project is to demonstrate how improved energy systems can make vehicles more affordable and efficient. Also, the group is working to expand educational opportunities for new students and generate more center projects.

During a presentation more than a year ago, James Worth "Jim" Bagley gave his "Car of the Future" vision to researchers at CAVS. He is also the one funding the project. Bagley, which the College of Engineering at MSU is named for, is a 1961 and 1964 electrical engineering  alumnus.
