CAVS Researcher Wins Best Technical Paper Award

Dave Marcum and Frederic Alauzet were awarded the "Best Technical Paper Award" at
the 22nd International Meshing Roundtable held in Orlando recently. The paper entitled,
"A Closed Advancing-layer Method With Changing Topology Mesh Movement for Viscous Mesh
Generation" was judged on factors that included Originality, Technical Quality, Impact,
Relevance to the IMR, and Presentation.
Dr. Marcum is Chief Scientist, Computational Fluid Dynamics, at the Center for Advanced
Vehicular Systems, while Dr. Alauzet is a Visiting Research Professor from the French
Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control that is working here at MSU with
Dr. Marcum as part of an ongoing collaboration.
