Abstract

The Mississippi State University internal state variable (ISV) plasticity-damage model (DMG) production version 1.0 is being released along with its model calibration tool (DMGfit). The model equations are explained in Appendix A, while material model fits up to sixty one (61) metals and alloys which are illustrated in Appendix B. The fits were obtained by the model calibration tool DMGfit described by this document. The DMG model is implemented as an ABAQUS user material (UMAT) subroutine for production run finite element simulations. For consistency, the same UMAT is utilized for model calibration by the DMGfit tool. The calibrated model constants can be directly merged by DMGfit into the "USER MATERIAL, CONSTANTS" section an existing ABAQUS input deck. The DMG model UMAT and a stand-alone DMGfit tool are available, upon request, from Mark Horstemeyer . An online version of the DMGfit tool, along with sample experimental data, is available on the Web at http://ccg.hpc.msstate.edu/cmd.
