Outreach Program

Part of our competition is an outreach program. The goal of this program is to increase awareness of alternative fuel vehicles, and the need for more technology in this area. As part of our outreach program, we visit many local groups and organizations to tell about our Challenge X team and how they are helping to address this important issue. Groups enjoy hearing what is going on with team, as well as learning that this kind of research is being done right in their own local area. We also love to visit youth groups and classrooms. We have tailored presentations that appeal to younger children. We have presented to children as young as 3 years old. Our presentations cover the basics of energy, and introduce the idea of alternative forms of energy. Of course, we can certainly tailor our presentations to meet the educational needs of any classroom that we visit, depending on what they are studying at the time. In the past we have used our presentation to reinforce lessons on alternative energy, the atmoshphere, chemistry, earth science, and more. We enjoy knowing that our presentation is useful and educational for the students we visit.
