Mississippi State University Challenge X Outreach
As the need for more fuel-efficient vehicles becomes ever more increasing, the need to relate this
to the surrounding community also increases. Therefore an important part of the Challenge X team is
letting the community know about critical energy and transportation related issues and how the Challenge
X competition is adressing these issues. The outreach team is a sub-group of the MSU Challenge X team, and
among their activities are K-12 outreach, community and media outreach, and website.
During the year, the outreach team holds community events such as discussion forums,
ride and drive events, and lectures to inform the surrounding community about what the team is
doing. They also participate in K-12 outreach, visiting schools, libraries, and science fairs to
teach students about energy issues and encourage them to study more math and science.
If you would like the outreach team to come to your school, group, etc., please contact
Amanda McAlpin at 662-325-5562, or by email at amcalpin@cavs.msstate.edu.
We will be happy to set up an event, lecture, or work with you to determine what would best benefit your needs.
