Abstract

Engineering Engagement with Regional Industries. SEC Symposium, September 20-22, 2015 Clayton T. Walden, Ph.D. Director of CAVS Extension, Bagley College of Engineering Mississippi State University This presentation will focus on experiences and lessons learned from Mississippi State University’s Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems Extension, an engineering outreach center located adjacent to the Nissan Assembly plant located in Canton, MS. This will include the types of services provided and how these services impact the state’s industries, as well as, regional economic development. Also, consideration will be given to the use of engineering engagement as a catalyst for enhancing relationships between the university and industries.
