Update from Year 3 Competition

Update from Year 3 Competition

So far for the MSU EcoCAR Team, this year’s competition has had it’s share of Murphy’s Law. Engine overheating problems slowed the team down at first, and a fix for that required the team to start over and complete an On-road Safety Evaluation over again. Later, an issue with data collection for a competition event required another vehicle change, which again meant the team had to start over!
But the tide seems to have finally turned. Wednesday afternoon, the vehicle completed the AVL Drive Quality event. Then Thursday morning, the big news: the team completed the 100-mile portion of the Emissions and Energy Consumption event, making them one of only two teams to do so thus far! There are still 2 more portions of that event, and the team plans to run those Thursday afternoon and Friday.
After that, there are two days of testing left to finish up:
-Towing
-Dynamic Consumer Acceptability
-Acceleration and Braking
Things are looking good for the MSU team! For live updates, follow our twitter or Facebook.
