MSU EcoCAR team installs rear motor

On Tuesday, the MSU EcoCAR team completed the installation of a rear motor.  This is exciting for our team because our car will benefit from this motor in two major ways. First, it will allow the car to have all wheel drive capabilities and second, the motor will increase the car’s torque to the road.  EcoCAR’s 0-60 performance is expected to be better than the time recorded just a few months ago at competition.  Michael Barr, the powertrain group leader, stated that “By adding the rear motor we will be making the vehicle’s performance significantly better.”  Once the high voltage wires are installed, the new rear motor will be ready to drive and the MSU EcoCAR will be on the road to victory in Year 3.
