Multi-Pass Reverse Hot Rolling Process Simulation

Description:

A greater volume of metal is processed by rolling than by any other method. This work is to investigate the non-uniform texture distribution, recrystallization, and grain growth during multi-pass hot rolling.

Rolling Mill Process

Scientific Merit

• Combining temperature and mechanical effects in the rolling model helpspredict the texture development and stress state.
• This requires a new model for recrystallization and grain growth.
• Studying the heat treatments (reheating and spray quenching) by computer simulation involved in rolling and their effects on the overall deformation is an uncharted territory.
