| Biography: | Jean-Luc Bouvard received MS, and BS degrees in Mechanical and Material Engineering from Ecole Centrale Marseille (France) in 2003. He joined the French Aerospace Lab under the supervision of Professor Chaboche in August 2003. He received his PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering Materials in November 2006 from Ecole des Mines de Paris. He investigated the numerical simulation of crack growth under cycling loading. This methodology was based on cohesive zone elements coupled with a specific constitutive behavior in order to simulate the crack growth with a predictive character. He also carried out an experimental program in short crack growth regime for single-crystal superalloys under fatigue and creep-fatigue loading at high temperature. He joined the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems at Mississippi State University in April 2007. | |||||
