Biography:Esteban Marin is a senior structural analyst at the Computational Manufacturing and Design (CMD) Thrust of the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS), Mississippi State University. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1994, and then moved to Cornell University for a postdoctoral research associate position. Before joining CAVS, Esteban was a technical staff member at Sandia National Laboratories for seven years. Esteban's research activities have included constitutive modeling of materials using macro-scale and crystal plasticity approaches, numerical implementation of
material models in numerical codes, design and analysis of deformation processing, sensitivity analysis and optimization in mechanics, and modeling of polymeric materials. At CAVS he is supporting the research and computational activities of the CMD Thrust.
Research Interest:

Computational nonlinear solid mechanics, multiscale constitutive modeling approaches and simulation methods at the meso (crystal plasticity) and macro (continuum plasticity) scales, constitutive modeling of polymeric materials, sensitivity analysis and optimization in nonlinear solid mechanics, design and analysis of computer experiments.
